You should wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in. The academy provides an official uniform once enrolled.
You will also need to bring a soft drink or water to class to keep hydrated.
In the Little Bears, due to the attention span of the little one, spectators are not allowed, except for the first few classes to let the children settle in.
Within the Karate, Japanese Jiu Jitsu and Freestyle classes, spectators are not allowed, however Parents are able to train alongside their children, creating a unique bonding experience while learning martial arts.
You should/can train as often as you are able, time permitting.
Once a week as a minimum is fine when starting out, but 2/3/4 times will give you the best results and is expected of all brown/black belts.
The more you give, the more you will get and the faster you will progress.
This depends on your effort, attendance and progress. Generally a minimum of 5 years of consistent training would be required.
A small risk of injury is possible in any physical activity, karate is no different. Safety is our top priority. All instructors are fully qualified and enhanced DBS checked, and classes are conducted in a safe, controlled environment.
No prior experience is needed. Our instructors create a supportive environment where everyone learns at their own pace while adapting techniques for different skill levels within the same class. Classes are suitable for all fitness levels.
